Updated: Nov 27, 2019

If you're an Android user and you just got an Apple TV+ subscription or thinking about getting one, you'll be facing one big issue. There is no Apple TV app for Android. So, does that mean there is no way to watch Apple TV+ on your Android Smartphone? Well, of course there is a way & it's actually quite an easy one. Here's how you can watch Apple TV+ on your Android smartphone,

Getting Your Apple TV+ Subscription

If you have an Apple TV+ subscription, you're ready to go. If you haven't got one yet, you have to get your subscription first.

  • You need to go to tv.apple.com & select your country in case you're not redirected automatically. For example, the Indian Apple TV website is tv.apple.com/in.

  • Next you need to click on "Start your free trial" which will take you to the Apple ID Sign-in page.

  • Sign-in or create a new Apple ID in case you don't have one.

  • You'll need to give your Credit/Debit Card details as the payment option. Other payment methods are not supported as of now. If you already use any other Apple service where you've already given your credit card info, this step will be skipped.

  • Once you're done setting things up, you're 7-day free trial will kick in.

That's all you need to do & you're Apple TV+ subscription will be up & running. In case you want to cancel the subscription within the trial period, it's possible and you won't be charged for that. In case you want to keep your subscription, Apple TV+ costs $4.99/month in the US and ₹99/month in India.

How To Watch Apple TV+ on Android

As there is no Apple TV app on Android, you have to open Apple TV's website (tv.apple.com) on Chrome or Firefox and log into your Apple account. However there is one big problem with that. You can go to a show & click on an episode to play and it'll load the player screen but, it won't play the video. So, you need to use a small trick to play the episodes.

  • Go to (click on) the show you want to watch

  • Locate the navigation dots (three dots at the top-right of the screen) & click on them to open the browser menu.

  • Look for the option "Desktop site" & click on it. This will enable Desktop Mode & load the desktop site instead of the mobile site.

  • Now you can click on an episode & it'll play the episode without any issue.

  • To switch to landscape mode click on the full screen toggle & rotate your phone (turn on Auto-rotate in case it's off).

You'll still have the black bars on the side so, you have to deal with that. But otherwise, it works just as good as on your PC's browser. So, now you can watch Apple TV+ on Android. If you want to cast the video on your TV using Chromecast or Miracast, just cast your phone's display on your TV after entering full screen. That's it but, in case you have any further questions, feel free to drop them in comments.
