What Is a Mouse?
A mouse is a small handheld device that connects to a computer or laptop and is used to move the pointer on the screen. By moving the mouse across a flat surface, the cursor on the screen moves in the same direction. Most mice have two primary buttons—left and right—and a scroll wheel in the middle, allowing users to click, select, drag, and scroll through documents or webpages.
The name “mouse” comes from its shape and the cable that used to resemble a mouse’s tail in earlier models. Modern wireless versions, however, no longer have cables.
